Benidorm is the Green Pioneer of Smart Tourism. 🌱 This competition celebrates smaller cities with successful strategies for sustainable tourism.
From solar panels on public buildings to a city-wide transition to LED lighting, Benidorm is slashing emissions & costs! Moreover: improved drainage systems, green engineering & heat-reducing infrastructure help prepare the city for extreme weather.

Als Antwort auf European Commission • • •I feel like the European Commission doesn't understand how to reach the average person on the fediverse. A lot of us ( I would hazard to say the majority) aren't "just consumers" I'm totally fine with you promoting innovative cities, but I don't just want pretty photographs. Give me more detail. Give me links to sources that back up what you're announcing!
Above all, please don't just treat this platform as an announcement board. I someone asks a valid follow up question, its polite to provide a response.

This is actually the first time I see a response by @EUCommission .
(Now, browsing their timeline, I see that lately they have indeed responded to some comments, which is great because until commenting these threads felt like screaming into the void)
I wish the social media team of @EUCommission good nerves and patience, since they have the task to make a highly controversial* institution look good and will have to defend a lot of policies they are personally not convinced of.
Welcome, and we are happy for advice towards effective ways to put pressure on the Commission instead of arguing with the social media team
* controversial as in greenwashing and talking about human rights as a lip service while doing neoliberal policies and destroying the planet and the people.
